At the Criminal sittings of the Supreme Court, Catherine M'Donald, for the manslaughter of John Briggs, was sentenced to five years' penal servitude. All the sing-le immigrants by the Surat have found speedy employment at good wages. Fifteen immigrant ships have arrived during the past year, bringing 2825 souls, equal to 2381 statute adults.
