Post Office Savings Banks have now been opened at the following Post Offices in the Colony : — ,1

Morton. Picton, Blenheim, HavelocH Christchnrch, Lytteltan; Kaiapoi, Timaru* Akaroa, Waimate. Dvncdin, Clyde, Lawrence, Arrow River, Mamtfierika, Queens town, Oamaru, Tokomairiro, Bort Chal raers, Waikouaiti, Balclutha, Weßt Taieri Hamilton's, liivernargill, Hiverton andCamj^ belltowu, .
1. interest at the rate of 4 per cent, per annum is given on sxvyvi less than £200'; at the rate of 3 per cent ■■ a .i annum on sums over £200 ; and the same in "•ooortion ,fpr any shorter time on every complete £1 de» posited, provided that no interest be allowed on more than £500. . :
2. Depositors, in the Post gffice Savings Bank have direct Government security for the prompt repayment of their money. 3. A Depositor in any of the Post Office Banks con continue his deposits at any other, of such banks, and can withdraw his money at that Post Office Bank which is most cony venient tp him. 4. The strictest secrecy h observed with respect to the mimes of Depositors in the Post Office Bankfi, and the amount of their deposits. . 5. Married women may deposit money in the Post Office Savings Bank, and money bo deposited will be repaid to the Depositor, nnlesß her husband gives notice in Writing of marriage, and claims payment of the deposits. •..:..■.- 6. Money may be deposited by or on behalf of minors. Depositors over seven years of age are treated as persons of full age, but minors under, seven years of age cannot withdraw their deposits until after they have reached the age of seven. j'^ 7. Applications to the chief office in each' Province on thie business of Post Office Savings Banks, and the replies sent thereto, are free from charge for postage.
