TO MICHAEL CASSIUS, ESQ., DEAR SIR,— We, the undersigned Electors, of the District of Hokitika, beg to request that you will allow yourself tobe placed in nomination for a seat in the County Council at the forthcoming election. We beg to assure you that we have the utmost confidence in your ability, and that owing to your long and intimate connection with this District, you are fully acquainted with its important requirements,' and, moreover, that your return to a seat in the County Council would materially assist in promoting the welfare of Westland. ; We trust, therefore, that you will be pleased to accede to our request, and you may rely upon our best efforts being used to secure your return.
