THE HOKITIKA HOSPITAL
(To the Editor.)
Sib,— Permit me, through the columns of your paper, to take this opportunity of thanking Dr Maunsell, Surgeon-Suptrin,-. tendent of the Hokitika Hospital, for his great skill and kindncga doling the period I was un,der h\a oare. I was suffering from a compound dislocation of the ankle-joint, caused by a large piece of iron entering into that part. Mine was such a hopeless case, that it was the opinion of several medical gentlemen that amputation would be necessary; however, I 'am happy to bear testimony, that through the untiring zeal, and professional skill of Dr Maunsell, that I am now able to walk about once more, with" comparative ease and comfort. I think it my duty to return these my grateful thanks and* well wishes to my benefactor.
I am, &c. MALCOLM BELL.
