MAILS CLOSE The s.s. Tararua having been subsidised, it is intended that she shall convey the English mail from H kitika on the 25th inst. ; but as rough weather may possibly prevent communication with her, letters, &c, for the United Kingdom, India, China, America, the Cape of Good Hope, the Continent of Europe, &c, &c., will be received till 5 p.m., on Thursday, the 16th for despatch by coach on the 17th December. All correspondence for the English mail posted after that time, .and on or befoi*e the 251!h December, will (weather permitting) be forwarded by the subsidised Bteamer on the last mentioned date. For Westport, Nelson, and Manukau, ncr 8.8. John Perm, this day, at 4 p.m. For Okarito, per s.s. Waipara, this day, at 6 p.m. For Westport, Nelson, Wanganui, and Manukau, per s.s.
