Brisbane, July 5.

A dispatch has heen received from Earl Granville, by the Governor, requesting particulars of the Polynesian immigration question, the Government being apprehensive that the honor of England was being compromised by a new system of slavery in the South Seas. There has been no quorum in the Legislative Assembly during the week.

The rush to the Gilbert diggings continues, notwithstanding the recent advices of the scarcity of water on that goldfield. It is computed that there are at the present moment about 3000 diggers on the spot.
