BILL FOR DIS-ESTABLISHMENT OF IRISH CHURCH PASSED SECOND READING.
(From the Melbourne Papers.)
The s.s. Rangitoto arrived in the roadstead at 8 a.m., yesterday morning, bringing the March mails. The following are telegrams received from Adelaide by the Melbourne papers : —
Adelaide, May 10.
The branch mail steamer Alexandra has arrived at Glenelg from King George's Sound, bringing mails and passengers from Galle ncr R.M.S. Avoca.
The* R M.S. Avoca arrived at the Sound on the afternoon of the 6th, having left Galle on the 22nd ultimo. She would leave the Sound on the night of her arrival. Passengers for Melbourne: Mr and Misses Blackwood (2) and Master Blackwood, Messrs Wilson, Brown, Groves, D. Jones, Hunter, Turner, Mr and Mrs Officer, Mr Baldock, Mr and Mrs Hay, Miss Woolley, Mr Lalor, Mr Wallace, Mr and Mrs Cameron and two children, Mrs Elliott and child, Mr A. R. Thompson, Captain Layard, Rev. R. Paterson, Mr Webster, Mr H. J. Walker, Mr and Mrs M'Lachlan and Miss Lunny. The U.M.S.S. Malta arrived at the Sound at mid-day on the Ist of May, and sailed for Galle at six o'clock the next morning.
