VESSELS ANNOUNCED TO LEAVE THIS DAY.

Gothenburg, for Melßoume. Waipara, for the south. I J ersevere, for Greymoutli.

The s.s. Waipara will sail for the goldfleld ports to the Southward aasoon after her arrival here as circumstances will permit. We understand she proceeds as far south as Big Bay. The fine little steamer Murray is, we understand, about to pay the port a visit. After discharging cargo heie, she proceeds again to Nelson via the coast ports.

The work of discharging the various vessels at the wharf was carried on yesterday with great activity, and the result has been that the whole of them are expected to be free of cargo early to-day. The admirable condition in which their cargoes have been turned out shows well for the class of vessels now trading to .the port. A minute examination from time to time has not disclosed so much as discoloration on a single package.

There was no appearance during yesterday of the fore-and-aft schooner which has, on several occasions, shown up in the roadstead. She may, however, be expected to put in an appearance this morning, and will, most probably, be towed inside, as the sea showed on yesterday evening an evident inclination to go Gown. The steamers Kennedy and Waipara are still detained at the Grey, owing to the high sea rolling home on the bar. It is, however, very likely that they will show up to-day. The s.s. Gothenburg arrived at Wellington on Monday last, nnd would, most probably, sail for Nelson on yesterday morning, presuming she left Nelson the same night. We may expect to see her iv these waters this evening. The Gothenburg starts for Melbourne direct, and offers to those desirous Of visiting their friends in Australia an excellent opportunity of doing so at a moderate rate, as it will be seen by the advertisement, special return tickets are being issued at reduced rates.

The wreck of the brig Clarendon was sur-

veyed yesterday by Captains Thompson and Agnew. The result of the survey was, that the vessel had received so much damage, by being stranded, that the surveyors recommended the vessel to be sold for the benefit of those concerned. We understand that an official inquiry into the cause of the wreck will be held in a few days The hull, masts, gear and stores will be sold this day by Messrs. Maclean and Co. of Gre3 r mouth.
