NEW SOUTH WALES.
Stdnbt, 21st August. Messrs R. P. Stubbs and Co., sold by. auction yesterday afternoon, large parcels of Adelaide flour,- slightly damaged, at £17 10s net cash. The same firm to-day offered by auction, under instnictions from . Messrs R. Towns and C 0. ,, the ; importers, j the entire cargoes of flour, ex Japan and Mexicans, and sold a large portion at £17, 'net cash. '
The weather was very stormy at Newcastle yesterday, and some of the ships in the harbour were slightly damaged, but during the night the severity of the wind subsided, and torday it has been fine. The Hon. George Henry Cox, M.L.C., a squatter in th,e Mulgoa district, is dead. He was a man mnch respected by a large circle. The Synod of the English Church has closed its sittings. The question of the suspension of Mr ■ Dancan/tbe Collector of Customs, is still before the Government, but has not been finally settled. T' c weather to-day has been fine. The City of Adelaide, s., will sail for Melbourne on Wednesday next. She arrived here this afternoon.
