Sales of sugars aro reported at full rates, a pared of fair counters realising £33, and bright yellow crystab, £3-3. Tho trmlu aro, however, in anticipation of shipments arriving, indisposed to stock to any citcnt. Medium to good nie.iiinn congous have been quitted at 2s lo 2s (5.1 for small packages, at Is lid to 23 l£il for chests. There is a- bettor disposition to deal in candles and kerosine, but no transactions. At the sale of general" merchandise, at Mea»rs M'Landress, Hepburn and. Co.'s rooms, thero was a good attendanco, but apparently an indifference to buy. Some few fines, however, reaehod limits, amongst which were — grey peas, 16s; Provincial cured hams, Hid; Canterbury bacon, 7d ; Liverpool soap, 27s ; herrings, in firkins, 10s ; lair Mauritius counters, 83s j al?o Wellington and C.iulerbmy buttor, out of condition, at low rule*. Tlio same firm also quitted imdor tho hammer, tho Bchoo-.icr Elizabeth Carlo for tho sum of £300.
