West Coast Times Office, Saturday Evening. Tho amount of import duty collected at the Custom House to-day was L 205 8s sd. The following list of merchandise cloared shows its distribution :—: — Brandy £107 0 6 Geneva 35 8 0 Rum 19 4 0 Sugar 25 8 1 Tobacco 14 17 6 Leather 2 ]0 0 Tobacco 1 0 4 £205 8 5 There has been a very limited business done in the import market during the week, transactions been confined to immediate trade requirements. Shipments forward have been light, and value of principal staples remain without alteration. Tho market for breadstuffs is without animation, our last quotations having been but indifferently maintained. We quote for Hart's, Dulfield's, and B utter worth's Adelaide flour, respectively L 22, L2l aud L2O ; Tusmariian and Canterbury, LlB and Ll6. The market is decidedly drooping, for wines and spirits, tho enquiry lias been slight. Provisions maintain their late position, the dullness pervading country trude the last few days, is expected to be counterbalanced by next week's business. The amount collected at the Custom House for import duties the last six days was L 1571 4s 3d.
