TO THE ELECTOES OF THE DISTEICT OF WESTLAND GOLDFIELDS. p ENTLEMEN— Having received a numerously signed requisition from a large number of electors to allow myself to be put in nomination as a candidate for election, I have great pleasure in complying with your request, and I trust that you will again repose in me that confidence which I had the honor to enjoy as your late representative. My policy and views upon all matters relating to the public welfare are well known, as also, myself being the onjy advocate of local self-government identical with that which is about to be initiated, and my recommendation as to fitness to represent you in the County Council, must be my past career in the Provincial Council, which I hope is a sufficient guarantee that I shall, to the best of my ability, endeavor to advance the general interests of the people in Westland.
