SIR GEORGE GREY AND THE HOKITIKA TOWN COUNCIL.
The following acknowledgment of the address recently forwarded by the Municipal Council of Hokitika to His Excellency Sir George Grey, has been received, enclosed in a letter from his Honor the Superintendent : — Superintendent's Oilice, Christchurch, Canterbury, N.Z. sth .November, 1867.
Sir — In accordance with your request, I had the honor to present to His Excellency the Governor, the address of the Mayor and Corporation of Hokitika. I have since received His Excellency's command to forward to you his reply, which is enclosed herewith. I have the honor to be, Sir, sfour obedient humble servant, W. S.
