The enhanced value of brandies noted in our last has been maintained, and for known good brands there is an increasing demand. Heunessy's caso has been freely placed at an improvement on late quotations. Beer (English), in bulk, has iret with more favor, the preference being given* to Bass' No. 4. Beer in glass, not much demand. The tenor of tho markets on the whole are in 'favor of importers. L 2075 11s 3d was collected for import duties for the week. Messrs Richard Reeves a> t d Co. report no alteration can be noticed in business for the past week, quietness being the prevailing feature. In brandies and geneva a "slight advanoo has taken place, owing to advices from Melbourne, but no transactions of any moment can be reported. Flour remains very firm, holders having the call. Other staples remain o,s quoted last week. Wo have placed the following goods by auction and privately : J.D.K.Z. «geueva, 15s Gd and 163; a large parcel of colonial hams and bacon, at an average of 9d ; Maehin's stout, 13s 6d ; Blood's ditto, 13s 3d ; Hennessy's brandy, at 7s and 10s; Cozens kerosene,3s3d and 3s*6d ; potatoes, L37s 6d per ton ; oacs (poor sample), 3s 9d ; and a large lot assorted ironmongery at fair prices.
