The " Argus " of the 9th instant contains the latest Melbourne market report : — In the import markets to-day a moderate amount of business has been transacted, nor, unless at auction, have many sales worth special notice been effected.' Broadstuffa maintain a most satisfactory aspect. Victorian flour is offering at Ll2, without oxciting much attention, and we learn of the sale of some 2500 busnols of wheat at 5s net. Maize is disposed of at 3s Id to 33 2d. The bulk of the Albert Victor's cargo ot teas from Foo-chow-foo, amounting to 6800 packages met with, buyers, at prices sustaining market rales, said to have ranged from 13d in bond to Is 9d and 2a. In rice there is more business doing, about 100 tons of Patna, ex St. Bernard, having been sold at about our quotations for this product. Candles evince more firmness ; trade sales of Brandon's are reported at lid, and wo aro infoi'med of an offer of 10] d, made for 500 boxe9 of the same brand, having been refused. A small parcel of 1865 hops was placed at 2s. A shipment of about 100 cases of American chairs has changed hands at a slight improvement on our quotation of twenty per cent, advance for best makes. Soveral lines of Oregon lumber, ex Siain, have been quitted at 1/9. Sales of sugni's aro mentioned at L 32 for counters, and L 33 10s to L 34. 10s for good brewers' crystals. The whole of the sound portion of Iho Etiennetto Laurence's cargo of Bourbon sugars, amounting to 7000 bags, will bo offered for sale to-morrow. Iv liquids parcels of common red wine are disposed of at Ll9 ; and somo 1500 cases of V.H. and Co.'s geneva were got rid of by auction ab from 6s 6d " to 6s 9d ; a shipment of Campbelton whisky was sold at a full figure. In bulk ales wo hear of 100 hhds of Fulton's having been quitted on private terms, and sales of Marrian's at L 8 6s Jcontinuo to be reported.
