VICTORIA.
The " Molbourno Argus" of the 5tU instant reports :—: — In the import markets to-day, considerable activity has been perceptible, and sales to a fnir extent have come under our notice. In breadstuff's, wo note an irar oving feeling in regard to flour, for though small parcols of South Australian country flour are being offered as low as Lll without finding buyers, and though ordinary brands of Victorian flour are still quoted at Lll 15a for small lots, yet we learn that as much as Ll2 (terms) has been offered and infused for one line of 200 tons ; a trifle over that figure, however, would have bought the parcel. Wheat is steady at 4s lOd to ss, with, but little offering. Sound parcels of maize are moved off at 3a to 3s Id. Tobaccos command a good deal of notice ; we hear of one line of close on L 4500 in value, and consisting of good tens, half-pounds, and twists, haying changed hands at very full rates. A parcel of fifteen half-tierces of Queen of the South twist was quitted at 14£ - The balance of a shipment of half-pounds of Peach and Honey (thirty-five cases) was cleared off at the rate hitherto required for this brand. Speculative attention has been directed towards candles, which has led to the sale of some 4900 boxes of Brandon and De Roubaix, at prices rising from lOJd to lid. A parcel of hematito iron was disposed of at £5 2s 6d. Sides of brown sugars have been made at £28 10s. Holders of stock, however, owing to late advices, are careless of pressing sales except at an advance. The balances of the Stag and Frances Milly's cargoes, which have been offering privately, have been withdrawn from sale, in anticipation of better rates. The cargo of the King of Trumps, consisting of 7900 bags, will bo offered by nuction on Monday. Fine leas have been in more favor. Ono of the finest chop 3in the Ino's cargo, about 180 half-chests, has been quitted on private terms. One hundred and fifty halfchests, the finest chop of the Tek Li's cargo, for which 2s lOd in bond was wanted, lias also met with a, purchaser, and, in addition, equal to 600 chests of the Tek Li's teas have' also been quitted, at prices ranging from 2s to 23, 6 din bond, and further transactions are pending which it is expected will close up tho entire cargo. In liquids further .sales of Martell's old dark brandy aro reported at 6s 6d. Dunphy's stout, in champagne bottles, has been quitted at 9s 6d,
