Broker— Mr J. H. Middletou, Campstreet, Hokitika. ■ Manager pro tern — William Faler. This Company liaving been registered under the Mining Company's Limited j Liability Act, 1865, is formed for the purpose of w orking the Company's claim, protected under the leasing regulations, and consisting of about nine acres of highly auriferous ground, on tho well-known Jones' Flat, Eoss, and adjoining the celebrated ongine claims, from which very rich leads of gold have been traced into the Company's ground, which itself has also been proved to be highly auriferous ; but excess of water has prevented it from being wrought in small claims, as powerful machinery is required for drainage. A sum of nearly six hundred pounds has already been expended in first cost, labor and material, all of which will be available for this Company, and for which tho original shareholders have agreed to receive 12) paid-up shares. A powerful engine, together with pumping, winding, and connecting gear ; double and single acting pumps and pipes all complete in every particular has been purchased for the sum of LISOO, for which the vendor of the engine has agreed to receive 300 paid-up shares as payment in full. It must, therefore, be patent to intending shareholders that when expensive machinery, and proved rich ground, can be purchased for shares in the undertaking, the' claim for which such good terms can be obtained, must be held in very good estimation. The expense of erecting the engine and carrying on the works of the Company will be very light, compared with the companies in Eoss and elsewhere, on account of the completeness of tho newly purchased plant, and improved manner in which it is intended to carry on operations, as advantage will be takpn of the experience gained from undertakings of a similar nature in the immediate neighborhood. It is, therefore, not probable that more than two-thirds of the capital will need to be called up. As soon as two-thirds of the shares will be allotted, a general meeting of shareholders will be called to adopt deed of association, elect officers, &c. Application for shares to be made in the following form : — To the Provisional Directors of the Eoss Extended Gold Mining Company. Eegistered, Eoss. Gentlemen — 1 request that you will allot me shares in your Company, and now enclose the sum of £ , being at the rate of 10s per share ; and I hereby agree to accept that or any less number you may allot me. And I also further agree to pay all further calls that may be made by you or the permanent Directors in respect to said shares, and when re- j quired to exocuto the articles of associa- j tion. i Name Address Occupation Date ... 51028 Banks.
