This Company having been registered under the Mining Company's Limited Liability Act, 1865, is formed for the purpose of working the Company's claim, protected under the leasing regulations, and consisting of about nine acres of highly auriferous ground, on the well-known Jones' Flat, RosSj and adjoining the celebrated engine claims, from which very rich leads of gold have been traced into the Company's ground, which itself has also been proved to be highly auriferous ; but excess of water has prevented it from being wrought in small claims, as powerful machinery is required for drainage. A sum of nearly six hundred pounds has already been expended in first cost, labor and material, all of which will be available for this Company, and for which the original shareholders have agreed to receive 123 paid-up shares. A powerful engine/together with pumping, winding, ana connecting gear ; double and single acting pumps and pipes all complete in every particular has been pur- ! chased for the sum of LISOO, for which the eendor of the engine has agreed to "receive 300 paid-up shares as payment in full. It must, therefore, be patent to intending shareholders that when expensive machinery, and proved rich ground, can be purchased for shares in the undertaking; the claim for which, such good terms can be obtained.inust be held in very good estimation. The expense of erecting the engine and carrying on the works of tho Company will be Very light, compared with the companies in Ross and elsewhere, on account of the completeness of the newly purchased plant, ana improved manner in which it is intended to cany on operations, as advantage will be taken of the experience gained from undertakings of a similar nature in the immediate neighborhood. It is, therefore, not probable that more than two-thirds of the capital will ■need to be called up. As soon as two-thirds of the shares will bo allotted, a general meeting of shareholders will be* called to adopt deed of association, elect officers, &c. Application for shares to be made in the following' form :—'" To the Provisional Directors of the Ross Extended Gold Mining Company, Registered, Ross. \ Gentlemen — I request that you will allot me shares in your Company, and now enclose the sum of £ , peing at the rate of 10s per share ; and Thereby agree to accept that or any less'number you may allot me. And I also further agree to pay all further calls that may be made by you or the permanent Directors in respect to said shares, and when required to execute the articles of association.
