Satubday, August 24. (before Gk &. FitzGerald; Esq., KM.)
Lunacy. — George Brandt was charged with being of unsound mind. From the evidence of Sergeant Slattery, it appeared the unfortunate man had attempted to drown himself in the Hokitika River. Whilst the sergeant was bringing him down from the Kanieri he twice attempted to rush into the river. His Worship remanded him till the 27th inst., for medical examination by Drs. Ryley and Beswick.

Waters v. Mendoza.— A claim for LlO. the value of a dog. Judgment was given for the amount. Judgment to be satisfied by the defendant giving up the dog. The Court was then adjourned till eleven o'clock on Monday, the 22nd inst,
