FORTNIGHTLY SUMMARY.

West Coast Times Office, August 16, 1867.

Our last summary of news was published on the 2nd inst. for transmission to America and Europe by the Panama steamer, appointed to leave Wellington within a few days of that date. We avail ourselves of the present opportunity of issuing a resume of events subsequent to that date for transmission by the Suez route. The English and Intercolonial mails will be despatched for Melbourne by the steamer Alhanibra, which is advertised to leave the roadstead to-morrow.

The Suez mail from England is now due at the Bluff, and a telegraphic summary of the news brought by it may be hourly expected. Letters received in Hokitika via Suez may be replied to by the Panama mail, which leaves about the Ist of the ensuing month.
