According to our telegraphic news received this day from Christchurch, the Westland members will not be able to attend at tbe meeting of the Separation League to be held to-morrow evening at the Empire Hotel, as they did not leave Christehnrch by this morning's coach, having been detained in that city on business.

The correspondent who wrote the letter, which according to our Christchurch tele* gram, appears in the "Lyttelton Times" this morning, must have been really ignorant of the facts connected with the subject upon which he was writing. It is true that Mr Bonar was elected to the post of Chairman by only one vote, but if is not true that he afterwards received a requisition calling dii him to resign. The fact is that after a meek ing was held at, the Prince of Wales Opera House, a requisition was signed by certain persons calling on the whole Council to resign, but not Mr Bonar individually.
