RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
CBefore G. G. FitzGerald, Esq., R.M.) Saturday, November 10. Depositing Eubbisii. — Henry Crawford, Jno. Kennedy, and Jno. Renton were charged with depositing rubbish on the beach, and the charge being preyed, they were respectively jfined LI. Felony. — Edward Duggan was placed in the dock, charged with being on certain premises with intent to commit a felony. After hearing the evidence his Worship sentenced him to fourteen day 3 hardlabor. Breach of the Peace. — Win, Fisher, George Matheson, and Jno. Sullivan were respectively mulcted in the sum of Ll, for having committed a breach of the peace in the presence of a constable. Vagrancy. — Mary Jane Smith was sentenced to eight days imprisonment for having no lawful visible means of support. Assault. — John Dougherty, for whom a warrant had been issued, stated in reply to the Bench, that he had not attended as he understood that no Court would be holden on Friday last. Mr Button also said that such was his impression. His Worship thereupon accepted the explanation, released the prisoner on bail, himself in LSO, and two sureties of L 25 each.
