Emerson. rpHE Commissioner's Flat Gold MiningCompany is formed for the . purpose of working three acres of ground on the well-known Commissioner's Flat, Kanieri, The different parts of this large block have been held by private parties for twelvemonths, but after repeated efforts it is at last seen that more powerful machinery, will be required to work the grcund satisfactorily than these parties could afford.- It is believed that before the grouud can be properly and profitably wrought, an engine of 30-horse power must be obtained, conjoined to gear of equal strength. There is upon the spot an engine of 12-horse power, which, with the interest of the various claimholders, will be sold to the Company for the nominal sum of six hundred pounds, which can be paid in the Company's scrip. Gold has been traced into the ground which will pay from £12 to £15 per week per man. The various' claims upon Commissioner's F}at are now yielding from £7 to £50 per nian per week, and. as it is known wifch tolerable certainty that two, if not three, "bottoms are workable, tho prospects of the -Company are good. The promoters appeal to all classes of business men with confidence, because the system o£ co-operative working is the only system ultimately possible upon the West Coast, and ii is the only system which guarantees permanency and profit. The shares will be paid for as follows : — Ten shillings on application, ten shillings on allotment, and calls of £1 each at intervals of at least a month. Applications for shares to be made at the office of the Company, Temple Buildings, Hokitika. 4709 QHOW CARDS Printed, in the first iO style of Art, in gold and colors, at FTiwvwtt & Co.'s Lithographic and Eugr&ving Office, Weld stieet.
