Last night, between ten and eleven o'clock, another alarm of fire startled the town, and caused the Brigade to muster with a rendiness which did it infinite credit. Happily, however, its services wero not required, as the conflagration was confined to a chimney in North' Revell street, and extinguished almost as soon as discovered. The engine and hookand - ladder apparatus were both on the ground. The new church of England will, it is hoped, be opened to-morrow, Archdeacon Harper being expected to arrive this evening from Christchurch by Cobb and Co.'s coach. A large congregation is expected, as we learn that over sixty sittings have already been applied for and allotted. We Bhall take an early opportunity of giving a full description of this, the first episcopal church in Westland.
