Bank discount was reduced on the 16th of August to eight, aud on the 23rd to seven , per cent. It is reported that the Continental banks intend reducing their quotations for general accommodation. The supply of money is large in the English market, and is increasing. The prospect of a splendid harvest and no commercial disasters of importance cause a strong feeling of confidence. Consols for money, 88$. Account, 89. The alteration in Iho rale of discount has caused a great improvement in the produce markets. . The liquidation of outstanding engagements in the India aud China trade arc most satisfactory. Sleps'have been taken for Hie resuscitation of the Agra and Masterman's Bank. Tho holders of land grants in the northern territory of South Australia have been advised by oounsel to' demand the return of their purchase money. Messrs. Romanjee, Parsee merchants, have faiteel, with liabilities amounting t0L300,000. Overend and liabilities of eighteen millions have been reduced by the liquidators to five millions.
