It is not unlike Mr (bale's method of mranq gunpowder wilh powdered glass, and consists simply in mixing the nitro-gly- : cerine with methylic alcohol, or vood-naplha. '! So long as the two substances remain together the compound is perfectly innocuous aud ' non-explosive. When the nitro-glyccrine is required for tise it is separated by washing the mixture in watei", by which the naptha is set free.
