CLARKE, in reminding the • electors that he is st'll a candidate for their suffrages, would simply refer to his past services as a member of the Improvement Committee as a , guarantee that, if elected as a member of the new Municipal Council, his time and best/ endeavors will be given to the furtherance of their interests. lie regrets that the necessity has arisen for troubling his fel-low-citizens, who have hitherto been his supporters, to attend the poll a second time — a tax upon their time which he would gladly have avoided, by submitting the claims of Mr Lynch and himself to the arbitration by ballot of the eight elected members of the Council.
