Thomas M'Cormick, charged with attempting to commit suicide hy drowning himself in the river, wa% discharged to-day at the request of the police.

Black v. Ryan. — Mr Rees for the plaintiff; Mr South for the defendant. Plaintiff claimed to recover the" sum of L 43.55* for wages. His Worship reserved hi* decision until the sth inst. . Hardcaatle v. Liston. — Summons not served. Case dismissed. Curwin v. M'Lean. — Settled out of Court. Eastwood v. Jebson. — The summonr in this case had been served on the wrong person. C«so dismissed.

M ; Farland and Co. v. Thompson. — Mr Harvey for the plaintiffs, and Mr Button for the defendant. This was an action to recover the sum of LBB 8s Id, the amount of a dishonored promissory note, with interest added. Mr Button applied for an adjournment, to allow him time to procure the attendance of a witness who was in Sydney. After hearing Mr Harvey in reply, his Worship adjourned the case until to-ciay (sth instant), when he would either grant Mr Button's application or proceed with the case. Bartlett v. King and Yewtrs. — Mr South for the plaintiff; Mr Button for the fendants. The plaintiff claimed to recover from the defendants the sum of 1.5°, damages accruing to plaintiff by reason of defendants having failed to perform their promise of continuing to use and occupy a room for the purpose of the business of the "defendants in the Prince of Wales Jpera House, whereon the plaintiff, at their request, expended moneys in fitting up the same and otherwise to the loss of the plaintiff. The defendants had paid Ll4 into Court— the rent of the room for two weeks, the time they had occupied it. His Worship reserved judgment in this case until to-mor-row (this day)>. / In the cases of M'lntyre v. Harper, A]corn and Co. r. West, McCarthy Bros, v. Lee, Curwin v. M'Lean, Lovcll v. Addie, Alcorn and Co.-v. t^ympson, Alcorn and Co. v. Johnson, there was no appearance of plaintiffs or defendants. The Court was then adjourned until eleven o'ploek to-morrow (thi* day.)
