RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

Drunk and Incapable.— Margaret Levy was fined ss, or iv default twenty-four hours' imprisonment, with hard labor. Lunacy. — Samuel Benjamin, charged with being of unsound mind, was remanded until the 25th instant, for medical examination.
Disorderly Conduct. — Richard Patterson was fined Ll for this offence, or in default forty-eight hours' imprisonment. A further charge of assaulting the police was brought against Patterson, for which he was fined L 9, or, in default, four days' imprisonment, with hard labor.
Fbequbnting a Public Place with intent to Commit a Felony.— John Smith, charged with this offence, was brought Up On remand from the 21st instant, when he was remanded, to enable him to produce witnesses for his defence. The mate of the schooner Mary was called, and stated that the prisoner had assisted on two occasions to discharge cargo. The magistrate discharged Smith with a caution.
CIVIL CASES.
Lewis v. Green. — For goods supplied. Mr Rees appeared for the defendant, for whom judgment was given. M'Gorman v. Green. — Mr O'Loughlin appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr Button for defendant. The plaintiff claimed to recover the sum of Lls 11s 3d, for goods supplied. Judgment was reserved until to-morrow (thia day).
Goodwin and Co. v. Turner. — For bread. 'Judgment for amount claimed, Iss, and costs, 7s. Newton and Co. v. Kieis. — For goods supplied. Judgment by default for L 5 ss, and costs.
In Meyer v. Collins, Aaronson and Co. v. Mills, and Aaronson v. Gray, there was no appearance of plaintiffs or defendants. The Court was adjourned until eleven o'clock to-morrow (this day).
