The Emperor Napoleon has eudeavorcd, in conjunction with Eugland aud Russia, to prevent the Continental war. The Emperor d?cl:ired that had the proposed Conference, assembled he would have formally repudiated all ideas of territorial aggrandisement, so long as
the European equilibrium remained undisturbed. An angry debate took place in the Corps Legislatif, on the foreign policy of France. The general feeling expressed was for peace.
