Throughout the trip she experienced strong S.E. breezes and rainy weather. She brings a few tons of cargo and three passengers for this port, and will leave the wharf for G-reymouth at 11 a.m. to-day. We are able to report very favorably of the condition of the bar, which at high tide has twelve feet of water upon it. Although the freshet caused by the lato rains was not a heavy one.ij; proved sufficient to scour out the channel, which now runs nearly straight out, and is workable for nearly three hour 3on each tide. Just now, unfortunately, it is but little used,so few are the vessels arriving and departing ; but we hope thit in the course of a. day or two, some of the expected arrivals j from Melbourne, Lyttelton, and elsewhere j •will make their appearance in the olßng, when they may depend upon the prompt attention of the river steamers, which lately have been compelled-to a state of inaction. The P.N.Z. aud A.E.M. Company's s.s. Auckland, J. Hagley, commander, left Nelson at 11 a.m. on the 3lst ult., »md after a ploa•sant run of twenty-one hours arrived off Greymouth at 8 a.m. the next day. She remained there one hour, couraiuuieating with the shore, and then steamed for Hokitika off which she brought up two hours later. The Auckland brings no cargo and only two pasBengers for this port. She sails direct for Sydney at'lo a.m. today.
