The return of fine weather, which commenced with, and continued through tbe

week, has correspondingly enlivened business, showing a marked contrast to the previous ten days. Considerable activity has b6en apparent amongst the wholesale houses, doing business with country storekeepers, but no heavy transactions affecting the market can be noted. The dearth of arrivals of overdue vessels has been brought to a close by the i. arrival of the Mary, Jane Lockhart, and Alma, with well assorted cargos. The steamers Gothenburg and Thane have also added to our stocks. As the bulk of the cargos have not yet been discharged, no impression has been made on tbe market ; the principal lines are to houses not likely to press sales, so that no material alteration need be anticipated. M'Landress, Hepburn, and Co. offered at' their rooms, on Tuesday, an extensive and very good assortment of goods. The attendance of the trade was very limited, and few lines of any consequence were placed ; executing orders on hand appeared to have preference to replenishing stock. This will apply to other sales held during the week. There is some probability that a considerable amount of goods will change hands during the coming week at satisfactory prices.
