Wn have determined, for various reasons, to postpone tho publication of our Summary for Europe until tho departure of lie Airedale for Wellington, carrying mails for the first outgoing Panama' steamer from that port. Tho sailing of the Gothenburg has been deferred until to-morrow ; and on i Monday next the Airedale is announced to be despatched for Wellington. iJetters and newspapers posted by the Gothenburg, would not, according to tho new mail arrangements of the P. and 0. Company, leavo Melbourne until the 28 th of tho month, or be delivered in London until the middle of August. Thoso put ou board tho Kaikoura at Wellington will, if the Panama Company's timotable is kept — of which there is every present guarantee — avrivo at Southamp* ton on tho 14th August, thus anticipating tho P. and 0. Company's ordinary mails.

If any arrangement wero made by which tho homeward mails could be despatched from this port twice .a month by the alternate routes, at something like even intervals, I*'wo1 *' wo should adhere to tho plan we had formed of issuing two Summaries each month. Un'lcr the present arrangements, however, we see .no course but to issue the Summary monthly, as lms been hitherto the case ; selecting as the date of publication, the day of sailing of tho Panama boat. This change of plan we have sufficient reason to know, will bo concurred in by merchants and others, who aro accustomed to send a large number of copies of tho " Wost Coast Times Summary " home.
