Tho P.N.Z. 'and A.R.M Company's steamship Otago left Nelson at 10.45 p.m. let inst., and experienced fine weather throughout the passage, ai'riving off this port^jit" 9.'30 a.m., 2nd inst. The Challengo tug boat landed passengers, and shortly afterwards proceeded out with gold aud passengers for her. She convoys to Sydney a considerable shipment of gold, the produce of tho Hokitika district of the West Coast.

..The brig Clarendon, Capt. T. Hughes, arrived iv harbor in tow of tug steamer Challenge with Saturday morning's tide, aftor on exceedingly quick passage from Melbourne, whioh port she left on Thursday, 24th ult. j from her departure she has exporiencod favorable weather until arrival off tho land, which she sighted 31st ult. Since then light variable winds, whioh prevented her arrival until the 2nd inst.

The favorito p.s. Bruco, with strict punctuality, arrived in tho roadstead at 8 p.m. last evening, and this morning, at 1 a.m., arrived at tho wharf, Tho lights wore placed on the beacons by order of Capt. Turubull, tho Harboy master, and Capt. Kerley at once eteampd into harbor. She left Okarita at 2 pjn; yesterday, and Capt. Korley reports the channel as very narrow, but with from seven to eight feot '• 1 water on tho bar ; and stares also, this is a most favorable tune of the season for tides at Okarita. Sho brings up about 40 passengers and 82210z. 12dwt. gold for the Bank of New Zealand. The Bauk of New South Wales had upwards of 2000oz. in hand, but not ready for shipment by tho Bruco this time. The gold was under escort of an efficient constable, and wa deposited safely in tho bank. Tho s.s. Gothenburg, dipt. Maokie, took hor doparturo for Nelson yesterday morning, conveying a fow passongors and original cargo for that port. Sho has tliis time received a very quick dospatch, her cargo being lightered by tho lona, Lloyd's Horrid and p.s. Porsovoro. The Lioness yesterday morning convoyod Iho outgoing passcngors to hor.

The 8.8. Koora, Caplaiu Joyco, left Otago Heads on Wednesday last, 80th ult, at 11 a.m., and reports north easterly winds with a very heavy eoa on leaving, subsequently oxporioncod light and variablo wind and woaIhcr until arrival in tho offing, whore she anchored at 9 p.m. on Saturday, 2nd inst., after an exceedingly good run of thrco days ten hours. Sho brings a full general cargo and a number of passengers j her dates, howover, have been anticipated by the overland mail from Christchurch.
