The s.s. Gothenburg arrived yesterday morning in tho oiling, after a fine passage from Melbourno of fivo days two hours, which port she loft on Saturday, 26th ult., at six p.m., nnd during the voyage experienced ' light variable wiuds, with smooth sea and fine weather. Sho brings a largo cargo for . this port, and a full complement of passengers, as well as cargo for tho Grey. Tho company's steam tendor Persovcro lauded tho passengers for this port yesterday morning, and this day will proceed to the Grey with ihe passengers and cargo for that port The Lioness tug steamer, with tho Lloyd's Herald schooner, havo been engaged to lighter the heavy portion of tho cargo, and will this morning go out .•.' . • ,B*tdo tho Gothenburg, which steamer, aftct .'..^charging all cargo, will proceed to Nelson, returning again to this port ; and wo understand it is tho intention of the captain and agents to despatch her for Melbourno direct on the 11th hist.
Wo are glad to observe tho tug 6teamer Lioness is likely again to becomo a useful nnd favorite boat in this harbor. Wo understand she is" engaged by the agents of the Gothenburg to attend upon that steamer this day, and no doubt if she is rotainod permanently for the purpose she was originally intended, that ia» a regular tow boat, and an attendant
