JN pursuance of tho provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled, "Tho Regulation of Elections Act, 1858," I, Georgo Samuel Sale, Returning Officer for tho Electoral District of Westland, do hereby give notice, that by virtue of a Writ bearing date tho seventh day of May, 1866, issued under the hand of his Excellency the Governor of New Zealand, an election will be held for the return of two qualified porsons to serve as members of the Provincial Council for the said Electoral District, and that the Nomination of Candidates will take place at the Warden's [Court, Hokitika, on Monday, the second day of July, 1866, and that tho Poll, if necessary, will bo takon on Friday, the sixth day of July, 1866.
