RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

(Before G. G. FitzGerald, R.M.) Saturday, May 26. Dhunkness. — James Donaldson was fined 5s for this offence. A further charge of obstructing the public throughfare brought against Donaldson was dismissed. Using abusive and threatening language! to tub police. — John Gray was fined 10s for this offence. Tho prisoner was also charged with stealing a pup, the property of Mr Fane of the Havelock Hotel. Prisoner discharged. Violent and malicious assault with intent to do grievous uodr har m. — This charge against William Bracken was dismissed on the application of .Inspector Broham. A fresh information was at once laid by Sergoant Dyer, charging him with the manslaughter of Patrick Connell. The prisoner was remanded until Monday tho 28th 'instant, and in the meantime was admitted to bail, himself in £500, and two sureties in £250 each. Messrs Cassius and Middleton are sureties for the accuced. The Court was adjourned until eleven o'clock on Monday the 28 th instant.
