Steamers— Lioness, Bnllnwit, Challenge, Yarra. Tho s.s. Kcora returned yesterday evening from her trip to Bruco Bay. Sho reports exceedingly iino weathor up and down and smooth sea. She brings up about 20 passengers and a small quanity of cargo,, and reports tho place as almost destitute. The p. 9. Bruco left again for Okarita yesterday evoning, with tho Matilda schooner iv tow, both vessels having a full cargo, and tho Brueo about twenty passengers. It is undorBtood this trip sho will proceed from Okarita to Bruco Bay to comey to Okarita tho officers of tho constabulary stationed there. Tho s.s. Gothenburg left Nelson at 4 p.m. on the 9th instant, and anchored off tho Groy river at 6 p.m., on the 10th, experiencing fino weather throughout tho pnssago. The Company's 6team tender, Persevere, yesterday attended upon her, conveying 80 passoiifiors and 7000 ozs. gold, tho tend'ei* returning to port for more passengers, which she will tranship on board lit Hokitika roadstead this day. Ou tho arrival of tho Gothenburg off this' port, tho Yarra steamer was iv attendance, and at once received cargo and what few passengers there j were fromNehon for Hokilikti, arriving at tho wharf in tho evening. Tho Gothenburg will take away from the West Const district, 22,000 ozs. of gold. Sho has nlroady made at this port engagements for a number of passeugers, most of them successful miners on the West Coast.
