NORTH REVELL STREET IMPROVEMENT COMMITTEE.
A meeting of tho above Committee was held on Wednesday night at the Duke, of York Hotel, tho following members being present :- -Mr Robinson (in the chair) Rev. Mr M'Girr, Messrs Jones, Turner, Buxton, Ings, Powell, Spicer, and Godso. Proposed • by Mr Jones, seconded by Mr Turner, and carried — "That the tenders sent in for tho formation of a footpath, be opened and read ;" which being done, Mr Jones proposed, and Mr M'Girr seconded tho motion — "That the tenders stand over until the next meeting." Carried. Moved by Father M'Girr, seconded by Mr »Jones, and carried — " That the footpaths be made only in front of those sections occupied or owned by parties who have agreed to contribute their share of tho cost." Mr Jones moved — "That the price for tho construction of tho footpath be fixed at Is 6d per foot ;" but upon an amendment by the Rev. Mr M'Girr, which was seconded by Mr Spicer, the price was increased to Is 9d per foot. Moved by the Rev. Mr M'Girr, and seconded by Mr Powell — " That should there be any surplus funds remaining after the improvements proposed to be carried out were effected, it should be returned to section holders, ' pro rata,' to the amount each had subscribed." Carried. Moved by the Rev. Mr M'Girr, and seconded by Mr Spicer — " That Mou day (up to the hour of 4 p.m.) be the day appointed for the reception of all accounts against the Committee ; and that, after being passed^ the same shall be paid on tho following day." Carried. The following gentlemen were then appointed to collect subscriptions to defray tho expenses of improvements : — Rev. Mr M'Girr, Messrs Robinson, Buxton, and Turner. Moved by Mr Turner, seconded by Mr Buxton, and carried — "That the Rev, Mr M'Girr, Messrs Robinson, Spicer, Jones, and Ings, form a subcommittee to wait upon the Improvement Committee, and co-operate with that body in memorialising tho Provincial Government to have the ocoupied township sections at present unsold, submitted to public auction, at tho upset of £48 per acre, in accordance with Sec. 27 Clause 6 of the Land Act." There being no further business to transact, the meeting adjourned until Tuesday next nt 8 p.m.
