The prosecutrix, who bore traces of great ill usage, begged that the prisoner might be bound over to keep the peace towards her. The prisoner accused his wife of inconstancy. The Magistrate said it was evident that an assault had ibeen committed, and that the prosecutrix had sworn she was in bodily fear of her life, consequently he had no option in the mattor, and ordered the prisoner to find sureties to keep the peace for six months, himself in £50 and two sureties in £25 each.
