BHUNktiNitESS,. — .William Morris and James Boyle wfcre fined 10g;eacJi for,b,eing drunk and incapable, or in default twentyfour hours' imprisonment. Lunacy.— John Robinson was charged by John Hackett with being of unsound mind. He was remanded until the 6th instant for medical examination. Breach or the Police Ordinance.— James .Sherlock and Thomas Morlan were charged with committing; a breach of the peace by fighting m Revell-street last evening. They admitted the charge, and were fined £1 each. Larceny.— John Reid was charged with robbery from the person with violence. The police applied for a remand to enable them to malce further enquiries. The prisoner was accordingly remanded until this day.. AsSxvut. — John Barrett was charged with assaulting a constable in the execution of his duty, and remanded until tho oth instant, for the constable (who had been ordered to tho South) to attend. The prisoner, in the mean time, was admitted to bail. Illegally Occupying Nativm Reserves — Williftm Fleming and Kettle and Company were charged by Mr John Revell with being illegally in occupation of lands, a portlo'n of the Native • Reserves. Both cases were adjourned until to-day. ■ Larceny — John Liddle was charged with stealing a bag of onions, valued at ss, on the evening of t\\e 31st March, the property of Boyle and Company, Wharfstreet. " Mrs Carson being sworn said — She was housekeeper at Mr Boyle's, wharfstreet, and ( that she had teen tho prisoner and another man at the back of the prem.isc9.on Saturday. ( She had wat6h|ed and observed one. of. them hold a bag' whilst the other filled it with onion's. The manager for Boyle and Co. stated that 6n being informed by Mra Carson of what had occurred, he had followed the prisoner and overtaken him as he was crossing the foot-bridge in Camp-street with a sack of onions on his back. The prisoner stated that the onions had been given him by a ni&n named " Jack," but the Magistrate riot considering this sufficient authority sentenced him to fourteen days imprisonment with hard labor. The Court then adjourned until eleven o'clock this day, when the following civil Cases will be heard — Haworth v. Flint ; Samuels v. Kettlety.
