RESIDENT MAGISTRATES COURT.
SATOBDAY, 24TH FEBBffABT. (Before G. G. FitzGerald, Esq., R.M.)
Lunacy— Nioholas Paris was brought upon romand, charged with being of unsound mind, and again romanded for seven days for medioal examination.
Laboeny— Margaret Ashton was charged with stealing a broooh of the value of £16. Mr Oakes appoared for the defence. Inspector Brougham applied for a remand of seven dayß as the proseoutrix was at the Grey. Mr Oakes objeoted to the length of Hj« remand, asked for. Remanded until Tuesday the 27th^instant. Bail allowed ; the acousod in £100 and two sureties in £60 eaoh. Mr Oakes asked his Worship to make an order that the broooh be not shown to the proseoutrix till the hoaring of tho case, as identitioatjon would be tho main feature of the proseou* tion. Application granted. Assatji/t— George Murphy, brought up on this charge, was discharged as tho proseoutor Klois did not appear. The Court thou adjourned until 11 o'olook on Honcty morning, "
