IMPROVEMENT COMMITTEE.
A meeting of tho above Committee was hold at Braokon's Hotel, Eovcll-street, tho following mombors being present- -Messrs Prossor, Munro, Olai'k, Bracken, Ecclesflold, and Harding. Mr Prossor being voted to tho ohair, tho minutos of tho last meeting were read and confirmed, and a letter was road from the inhabitants of a section of- Weld street, respecting tho appropriation by tho G-ovornmont of sovoral allotments of land in Weld?street for the purpose of forming a .polico reserve. It was then moved by Mr Bracken, and seconded by Mr Ecolesffold, that tho lottor bo received, and a committco appointed, consisting of Messrs Prossor, Munro, Clark, and the mover, to onquiro into tho mattor.
A letter was read from Mr Wright, complaining of tho treatment ho had roceived at tho hands of tho Government; for having taken up an allotment in tho camp reserve, ho had beon summarily ejoefcod therefrom. It was moved by Mr Bracken and seconded by Mr Olark that tho letter bo receivod. A lettor from Mr Shoahan was submitted to tho Committee, the substance of which advocated separation, immodiato and complete. It was moved, seconded, and carried that tho lettor bo recoived.
It was moved by Mr Munro, seconded by Mr Eeolesfield, and- carried — That in Air Eicke's absence, tho motion standing in his name bo postponed until the next meeting.
Mr Munro presented specifications, levels, &o , for Weld, Sewell, and Beach streots, which had been, furnished by Mr Rochfort. These were ordered to be laid upon the tabje. Notices of motiou :—: —
