West Coast Timks Office, Friday evening. The amount collected at the Custom House, to-day, as duty on imports, was^LlCi 13a 6d. No gold wi.s olenrod.
We havo very liltlo alterations to make in our current prices sinco our last summary. Tho articles wo mentioned as in demand wero hams, bacon, choose, and pickles; they still remain scarco at the following pricos :— Is 9d to Is lOd por lb for first brands of bacon, and 2s' per lb for hams. A good sample of English oheeso would soil at la lOd por lb, good colonial at Is Od por lb.
Thoro has not been any arrivals of flour worthy of note. Best Adolaido is hold and sold for £31 por ton; thoro has boon somo sold by auotion (outsidb brands) at £28 10s por ton ; Chiliun.best guaranteed, isworth £24 to £20 por ton. Oats havo improved, largo parcols having bcou sold at fa 8d por bushol, but fow pawols ooming to hand.
Buttor is dull of solo, best Wollington and Nelson bringing 1b 9d per lb— it has boon sold by auotion at Is ?4d.
Wines and spirits are in bettor domand. Thoro is moro inquiry for flrst-cluss caso brandies*
