THE FENIAN MOVEMENT.
Monday, the 27th of Novembor, has been fixed for the opening of the special commission for the trial of the Fenian prisoners. Mr Justice Keogh and Mr Justice Fitzgerald, both Roman Catholics, will preside. Mr Browster will be added to the Crown bar for the prosecution, and Mr Butt will be the leader for tho defence. Mr Whiteside declined a brief for tho prisoners on the ground that ho had been 'prosecutor for the Attorney-General in the analagous cases of tho Phoenix prisoners in 1859, some of whom will re-appear in the dock charged with tho same offences. An " Appeal to the Women of Ireland ' is in circulation, soliciting funds to support tho destitute families of the Sta<o prisoners. Contributions aro brought by Mrs O'Donovan (Rossa) and Mrs Olai k'o (Luby) —the wives of two of the " Ivish Peop'lo" stutt'. Liidiosof chavitablo disposition aro invited to form branch committees. " Many of you, wo trust," says tho circular, " sympathise heartily with the prisoners, but we appeal to all, whether sympathisers of not, on tho ground of charity! Wo ask no mon to subsoribo."
