JOCKEYS INJURED IN ROSEHILL ACCIDENT
SYDNEY, Dec. 17 (Recd. 7.5pm). Yeoval scored his fourth win in succession ; S -erday when he easily won the Christmas Cup at Rosehill. Although Yeoval was having his first race in open company he had won so convincingly in other events that he was always a warm favourite yesterday. Yeoval was in a handy position entering the straight and when called on for an effort easily ran past the leader, Jupiter, to win by four lengths. Three jockeys were injured in an accident in the Welter Handicap. J. Deely, rider of Blue Danube, was seriously injured, and J. Thompson and CL Whitney were slightly injured. Blue Danube broke a leg and had to be destroyed. Blue Danube had been a good performer and had won several races at Randwick. The New Zealand-bred colt Volonel easily won the Two-year-old Handicap for colts and geldings. The Christmas Cup resulted:—Yeoval 8.1 (Sellwood) 1, Captain Roddy 8.0 (McGrowdie) 2, Revenue 8.3 (J. Thompson) 3. Seventeen started. Four lengths; half-length. Time 2.32.
