South Australia Lead New South Wales In Sheffield Shield Match
PERTH, Dec. 3 <Rec. 7 pm).—A fifth wicket stand of 94 by Frankish and Langdon and a fighting 50 not out by Outrldge helped West Australia succeed in a desperate battle to lead New South Wales on the first innings in a Sheffield Shield match. Three mihutes before slumps the veteran bowler, C. Puckett, who helped Tutridge take the sco're past New South Wales’ total, was hit in the face by a rising ball from fast bowler Brooks. He was taken to hospital with a probable fracture of the jaw. Scores: New South Wales, first innings, 220; West. Australia, first innings, eight for 241 (Frankish 63, Langdon 68, Out ridge 50 not out; Walker, five for 45).
