WAGE TALKS FAIL; AUCKLAND WILL BE WITHOUT BOTTLED MILK

AUCKLAND, Last Night (PA).— Milk bottling and pasteurisation workers at the three Auckland plants will go on strike at midnight tonight because of the failure of talks on higher wage claims which took place in Wellington on Friday. This means that Auckland will be without bottled milk after tomorrow morning unless there is a settlement of the dispute. The general manager of the Auckland Milk Treatment Corporation, Mr. R. B. Stonex, said this afternoon that tomorrow morning's bottled milk supply would probably meet householders’ requirements, but he could give no assurance that dairies would receive supplies.
