Two Youths And A Girl Tried To Rob Taxi-Driver
WELLINGTON, Nov. 29 (P.A.).How two yougths aged 18 and 19, and a young woman aged 21, intended to rob a taxi-driver after requesting him to take them to Porirua from Wellington was told in the Magistrate’s Court today. Gladys Joyce Theresa Goulstone, nursing aide, John Paulsen, farm and kitchen hdnd, and Kevin Frederick Pattinson, soldier, pleaded guilty to the offense and were committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
Exhibited as evidence was a knife that was to have been used to scare the driver, a cheap cap pistol, and a leather strap to tie him up. The taxidriver, Patrick Joseph Boyle, gave evidence as to the accused hiring him to take them to Porirua. On the way out Pattinson attempted to hold Boyle around the head but Boyle slipped out of his grip. The three accused then attempted to escape, but Boyle caught the female accused, and later the two other accused were also caught.
