Waverley Beat Wanganui R.S.A. In Bowling Match
The Waverley Bowling Club paid their annual visit to the Returned Servicemen’s Club over the week-end to play for the Grooby' Trophy. Six rinks made the trip, and, although overnight rain had made the greens heavy, an enjoyable day was spent. Morning and afternoon games were played, Waverley winning 8 games, 272 points, and R.S.A. 4 games, 211 pomts. Teams and results were as follows (Waverley teams being mentioned first)■ Morning: A Aiken, Stewart, Park and Prouse 25, Ward, Fairweaher, Grooby and Stewart 14; Birch, Edser, Larsen, Higginbotham 25, Pritchard, Curtis, Gilberd and Klnzett 19; Strachan, Milne, Hodgetts and Howie 26 Pettit, Clisby, Merewether, Spooner 14; W. Aiken, Johnston, Train and Morgan 20, Matson, Freer, Gray and Howes 19; Alexander, Thomson, Hopkinson and Bremer 20, May, Goss, Holland and Johnson 18; Goodhue, G. Aiken, Clark and Rosewarne 24, Wakely, Petersen, O'Reilly and Pocock 27. Afternoon: Morgan 20, Johnson 21; Bremer 14, Pocock 25; Rosewarne 15, Stewart 21; Prouse 28, Kinzett 14; Higginbotham 31, Spooner 18; Howie 24, Howes 21. The return visit, to be played l* Waverly, will be made on Anniversary Day next. Centre Mid-week Fours. R.S.A. teams to play St. John's Club on Wednesday are as follows: Away: J. H.
